Deslopifyer’s icon, a yellow duck holding a magnifier

Deslopifyer is a Mac app. It finds the Channels that make their videos entirely with AI, and hides them from your Home page.

For Mac · macOS 27

Deslopifyer looks at Channels, not at videos one by one. Once a Channel is hidden, everything it posts stays off your Home page.

  1. When a Channel you haven’t seen before appears on your Home page, Deslopifyer looks at the Channel’s newest videos: YouTube’s own AI label, and what the videos say.

  2. Are the videos made entirely with AI, or by a person? The decision is saved on your Mac, together with how sure Deslopifyer is.

  3. If the Channel makes its videos entirely with AI, its videos are removed from your Home page before you scroll to them, and from search results and the videos beside the one you’re watching. Subscriptions are left alone.

The main window lists each hidden Channel, why Deslopifyer hid it, and when. Channels it isn’t sure about are listed separately and stay visible on YouTube until you decide. If you disagree with a decision, press S to show the Channel again, or D to hide one yourself.

  • Hidden Channels, Close calls, and every Channel seen
  • Search by Channel name or handle
  • Press A for Always Show and a Channel is never touched

A glance shows how many cards were kept off your Home feed this week and whether Deslopifyer is working. Pause stops it judging new Channels; the ones it already hid stay hidden.

Open any Channel to see when Deslopifyer first saw it, when it decided, and why it hid it. If you know better, show it again, or tick Always Show.

See a Channel you never want again? Right-click any of its videos on YouTube and choose Deslopifyer ▸ Hide Channel, and its videos are gone from your Home page and your search results. Or press ⌘-Space and type “hide this channel”, which works on the YouTube page on screen. The same commands run from the Shortcuts app.

Deslopifyer makes its decisions on your own Mac. Nothing about what you watch is sent anywhere.

No. Plenty of good Channels use AI for a thumbnail or a voice‑over. Deslopifyer hides Channels whose videos are made entirely with AI. When it isn’t sure, the Channel stays visible and is listed for you to decide.

Select it and press S, or click Show. The Channel is back on your Home page at once. Press A for Always Show and Deslopifyer won’t touch it again.

No. Channels it already knows cost nothing. A new Channel is looked at in the background, so at worst you see one of its videos once.

No. It only hides videos from Channels that make them entirely with AI.

Because Deslopifyer was opened on the disk image instead of from Applications. When that happens, Safari reads a file on the disk image and keeps it open until Safari quits. Deslopifyer moves itself into Applications and ejects the disk image as soon as you quit Safari. Next time, drag Deslopifyer into Applications and open it from there.

Choose Deslopifyer ▸ Uninstall Deslopifyer…. It removes what it can, then lists the folders macOS lets only you delete, and ticks each one off as it goes.

Already dragged Deslopifyer to the Bin? Paste this into Terminal. It deletes everything a script may delete, then opens the Finder on the folders left for you.

cd ~/Library && rm -rf "Application Support/Deslopifyer" Caches/me.bottaro.deslopifyer HTTPStorages/me.bottaro.deslopifyer WebKit/me.bottaro.deslopifyer "Application Support/Google/Chrome/NativeMessagingHosts/me.bottaro.deslopifyer.json" "Application Support/Orion/NativeMessagingHosts/me.bottaro.deslopifyer.json" "Application Support/Arc/User Data/NativeMessagingHosts/me.bottaro.deslopifyer.json" "Application Support/Microsoft Edge/NativeMessagingHosts/me.bottaro.deslopifyer.json" "Application Support/Mozilla/NativeMessagingHosts/me.bottaro.deslopifyer.json" && defaults delete ~/Library/Preferences/me.bottaro.deslopifyer 2>/dev/null; rm -f Preferences/me.bottaro.deslopifyer.plist; security delete-generic-password -s me.bottaro.deslopifyer.tester-key >/dev/null 2>&1; for f in "Group Containers/4224FAF5RN.me.bottaro.deslopifyer" Containers/me.bottaro.deslopifyer Containers/me.bottaro.deslopifyer.extension; do [ -e "$f" ] && open -R "$f"; done; true

To do it by hand, quit Safari, then drag these folders to the Bin. Open each in the Finder with Go ▸ Go to Folder… (⇧⌘G).

  • ~/Library/Group Containers/4224FAF5RN.me.bottaro.deslopifyer holds your Channel list and Verdicts.
  • ~/Library/Containers: the folder named Deslopifyer is Safari’s extension. A Mac that ran an early copy has a second one; drag both, and nothing else in that folder.
  • ~/Library/Application Support/Deslopifyer holds the judge’s 800 MB model. Also drag anything named me.bottaro.deslopifyer in ~/Library’s Caches, HTTPStorages, WebKit and Preferences, and in each NativeMessagingHosts folder under Application Support.

A Mac running macOS 27 and one of the six browsers above. On first run it downloads about 800 MB, which it needs to make its decisions.

One email when Deslopifyer is ready, or an earlier one if you’d like to test it.
